Gold Star family members remember 1st Lt. Travis Manion and Lt. Brendan Looney as they recognize the impact of Veterans Legacy Memorial.

The Department of Veterans Affairs launched Veterans Legacy Memorial to share the stories of veterans who are buried or interred in various locations around the globe. The digital platform commemorates these servicemembers by capturing messages and photos from the public who are looking to remember and continue their veterans' legacies.

Ryan Manion and Amy Looney Heffernan are Gold Star family members. Manion's brother, 1st Lt. Travis Manion, and Heffernan's husband, Lt. Brendan Looney, who were best friends, died in combat and are buried at the Arlington National Cemetery.

Manion and Heffernan now lead the Travis Manion Foundation, which is an organization that empowers veterans and the families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations. Ryan Manion is the CEO and Amy Looney Heffernan serves as president. They understand how important it is to never stop sharing stories and memories of passed veterans to ensure their legacies live on.
