CXO Tech Forum: State of Cyber

Panel on stage with audience

Join us October 4 at the Observation Deck of the CEB Tower in Rosslyn, Va., for candid conversations on how the U.S. government can best prepare for a new era in cybersecurity and the key role emerging technologies play in bolstering America's infrastructure.

Federal agencies are constantly under siege. In response, federal CISOs and CIOs have bolstered defenses and started to go on the attack. Many agencies have hit a pivotal point where they will define their path forward.

We'll discuss national risk management, supply chain vulnerabilities, industrial control and offensive capabilities with leaders from National Security Agency, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Digital Service, Health and Human Services, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Defense Information Systems Agency and more!

Join government experts and cybersecurity thought leaders at one of the newest venues with the best views in the D.C. region.

A How-To: Replicating White House's Swat Team’s Security Best Practices
Summary: Since its 2014 launch, the U.S. Digital Service has ushered in a new era of digital modernization -- and a fresh way of delivering modern-day government services. Drawing from tech best practices from innovation hubs across the country, digital service teams across agencies have, in their own words, built a more awesome government. Team leaders at DHS, VA and DOD will talk about how USDS continues to solve big problems through tech and design with a security-first mindset, whether it’s streamlining access to veterans services, hacking the Pentagon, or overhauling an immigration benefits system.

Stephanie Neill, Executive Director, U.S. Digital Service, DHS
Marcy Jacobs, Executive Director, U.S. Digital Service, Veterans Affairs
Alexander Romero, Digital Service Expert, U.S. Defense Digital Service
Nick Sinai, Venture Partner at Insight Venture Partners and Former Deputy CTO for the United States

CXO’s Cyber State of Mind
Summary: How do CXOs across the intelligence community, defense and civilian agencies develop the best strategies to implement new emerging technologies? How do considerations differ from a health-focused agency housing and managing tens of millions of Americans’ most sensitive data to an intelligence agency responsible for protecting federal communications and IT systems? And how do CXOs stay ahead of cyber adversaries that seem to become more sophisticated, more relentless every day. Leaders will share their lessons learned, the dos and don’ts and perspectives from across the tech and policy spaces -- from Silicon Valley and the uniformed services to IT strategy and space-based communications.

Mark Hakun, Deputy CIO, NSA
Eric Sanders, Chief, Risk Management Division, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
