Academics Support DHS Through Centers of Excellence

The agency's innovations in technology are bolstering national security nationwide.

University-led Centers of Excellence at the Department of Homeland Security's Science & Technology Directorate conduct research and development on topics of interest to the overall agency's mission. The COEs' work sharpens not only DHS activity, but also its IT functions. These latest insights show how these efforts are supporting technological solutions at the agency across all its subagencies, including Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Coast Guard, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and more.
