  Emyly Hall is a native of Seattle, Washington. As the Senior Communications and Marketing Specialist for the GovCIO Corporate Marketing team, Emyly focuses on strategic communication initiatives aimed at streamlining messaging, content development, and enhancing employee engagement efforts. Prior to joining the GovCIO team, she gained valuable insights from various roles in business development, sales, marketing, and international education.

  Emyly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication from Washington State University, where she cultivated her passion for effective communication strategies.

  Outside of her professional endeavors, Emyly finds joy in slow travel abroad and exploring the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. She also channels her creativity into home remodel projects and crafting ceramic pieces for her loved ones.

  Jonathan (Jon) Halling is the creative director for GovCIO Media & Research. He came to the company after a long and successful career with National Geographic, where he held a number of design positions, including design/creative director for NG Books, design director for Children’s Publishing and associate art director for National Geographic Traveler magazine. More recently, he enjoyed time with Politico as senior graphic designer of marketing, where he developed his skills as an event designer for the Politico Live team.

  He earned his bachelor of science, graduating with highest honors from the Rochester Institute of Technology and has educated himself on the road of hard knocks ever since.

  When Halling’s not at work, he enjoys jet skiing on Lake Ontario, starting endless home improvement projects, watching comedy shows on Netflix and spending quality time with his wife, four children and their many pets.

  Nikki Henderson is a staff writer/researcher for GovCIO Media & Research, where she primarily covers the departments of Defense and Homeland Security.

  Prior to joining the team in October 2021, Nikki was a digital media reporter at KTAL NBC 6 where she covered multiple beats including health, technology and entertainment in her featured web series “On the Move with Nikki.” She also worked as a regional writer and producer for FOX News Channel in Dallas, Texas, and covered the 2000 presidential election while working at KTBC FOX 7 in Austin, Texas.

  Nikki earned her Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism from the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University.

  During Nikki’s spare time, she enjoys going to New Orleans Saints and Pelicans games. Nikki is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She also volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association. Her favorite things to do are Zumba, shopping at Whole Foods and spending time with her husband, Marlon, and their adorable son, Max.

  Michael Hoffman is president of GovCIO Media & Research. He joined the company after leading Tandem National Security Innovations, a community of startups and small businesses working with government agencies. Before Tandem, he served as Military.com’s managing editor, where he oversaw a team of military journalists. Hoffman spent five years as a defense reporter at Military Times and Defense News. He traveled to Afghanistan and Iraq, where he embedded with U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force units.

  Hoffman served in the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence officer after he graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park. He earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism at Maryland. Later, he returned to Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and earned his MBA.

  When he’s not at work, you’re likely to find Hoffman at National’s Park with his wife and three sons. He’s also an avid runner and skier who loves gardening and cooking.

She was nominated for The Innovation in Aerospace Journalism & Publishing Award for launching and hosting an aviation podcast.   She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Having traveled around the world since an early age, she grew up a U.S. Army brat born in Vicenza, Italy, and spent most of her youth living in Seoul, South Korea.

  Allison is part of the GovCIO corporate marketing team. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Texas Tech University, and has in-house experience in digital and print design – including presentations, email marketing, digital campaigns, training material, event design, promotional items, and more. She’s also highly skilled in photography and social media. She served as a judge for the 2023 District 7 National Student Advertising Competition, and is a 2-time American Advertising Award winner herself.

  Allison currently serves as the communications director for the Pensacola chapter of the American Advertising Federation. She also serves on the praise team for her local church. She enjoys traveling in her spare time, especially to Walt Disney World!

  Diane Morris is Media Sales Manager of GovCIO Media & Research. Before joining GovCIO Media & Research, she was instrumental in creating Government Matters on ABC 7 TV in 2013. She was the only Media Consultant and was very successful in connecting industry with Government leaders. Prior to that, Diane worked at C-SPAN as an announcer. Her ten-year time with C-SPAN is what got her interested in pursuing the relationship between Industry and Government.

  Diane has been working with media for the past 20 plus years and really enjoys collaborating with companies.

  In her spare time, Diane enjoys time with her dogs, and outdoor activities from hiking to biking to kayaking.

  Prior to joining the team in 2024, Silvia was a communications associate at Briya Public Charter School where she focused on multimedia content creation and student outreach. She also worked as a multimedia reporter in Iowa covering feature stories in Northeast Iowa.

  Silvia earned her Bachelor of Arts in journalism and communications from Wartburg College.

  During Silvia’s spare time, she enjoys going to the movies and local music events. Silvia is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Her favorite things to do are cooking new recipes, attending local festivals and spending time with her two cats, Ambrose and Luna.

  Jerome Wiley Segovia is GovCIO Media & Research’s Drupal developer. He’s a certified telephony engineer and has over 10 years’ experience in the IT services industry (primarily in CRM, telephony and database-driven web application development), including stints at EDS, Tech Data Corporation and Convergenz.

  He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hanover College (Hanover, Indiana) and previously graduated from the American School of Asuncion high school in Paraguay, South America. His father John was appointed USAID country director for Paraguay and his mother Maria made a career teaching seven languages.

  Wiley Segovia is currently engaged in researching material on the history of the adoption of the Drupal content management system in the U.S. and, more specifically, at various federal agencies. He’s also a fan of “Flash Gordon,” “Star Trek Continues” and the musical stylings of the Norwegian group Ylvis.
